On December 16th is the Christmas Jumper Day! A great excuse for a party, wearing funny clothes, listen Jingle bell and at the same time we can do something good raising funds for Save the Children.
It’s that time of year where bells, lights and red bows popping up from every corner. Someone loves it and someone hates it, the only point in which we are all agreed is the love for Santa Claus.
In any country in the world there are different traditions, foods and habits, but there is a new event that combines all and is the Christmas Jumper Day! Shouting “Don’t be shy, funny it is the new beautiful” I’ve caught the opportunity to have fun and do something good at the same time.
The elf with striped tights (Santa’s helper amigurumi toy) organized a party for the Christmas Jumper Day inviting all the puppets and humans in the neighborhood and he will have all my support (as you can see I’m already equipped with a festive sweater!). To organize your party with funny sweaters, pointed hats, loads of Christmas spirit and raise money go on the website www.christmasjumperday.org and find out how. The more people you involve, the more money you collect, the more children you can help!
To double the fun why not try to decorated a simple sweater? Or save an old sweater lying unused in the closet since years? With crochet snowmen and a bit of “free embroidery” you will have the most envied sweater (er… i.e.: funny, hilarious, irresistible!) at the party.

– plain jumper
– leftover of Aran cotton yarn in white, red, blue, yellow and brown (I’ve used Drops Paris 50 g / 75 m)
– leftover of Sport cotton yarn in orange (I’ve used Drops Safran 50 g / 160 m)
– 2,5 mm and 4 mm crochet hook
– 4 mm black beads
– black and white thread
– tapestry and embroidery needle
