Yay for more amigurumi birds!
The crochet pattern for making Duca, the amigurumi mallard, is available here.
If you are looking for a cute bird, duck or specifically a mallard this pattern is for you! Make your own crochet amigurumi mallard following the step by step instructions and photos included in this PDF pattern.
To create and complete this pattern I made 2 ducks with 2 rather similar yarns: Paintbox yarns Cotton DK and Ricorumi DK. They are both 100% cotton yarns, quite soft and with a matt look. Using these yarns for amigurumi you can choose a 2.5 or 3 mm crochet hook to get your stitches tight enough so the toy stuffing doesn’t poke through the fabric (for some tips about how to stuff an amigurumi you can read here).
I chose the colors taking inspiration from nature! The head is green, has a white ring around his neck and the body varies between shades of beige, gray and brown… but I decided to simplify by making the whole body in a warm shade of brown and the wings in a lighter color.
What color would you like to make your mallard or duck? Natural colors or bright and imaginative colors?
