There’s a new amigurumi pattern release! The Chubby Birds: Cockatiel, Parakeet and Galah parrot

When I need inspiration for a new amigurumi design the first thing I do is browsing animals photos looking for something special: colors, gestures, shapes…
When I saw a yellow and gray cockatiel, with those cute cheeks – and it’s not blush, it’s real! – I knew I had to make an amigurumi version. So the first Chubby bird was born, but in the meanwhile I had discovered a whole world of little birds and parrots with the most amazing colors and tufts. I played a little bit with my cotton yarn balls until I found the right colors to make other two feathered friends: a white and blue parakeet and the pink galah parrot.

I could have continued adding more colors and species to my Chubby birds collection but I already know, now that the crochet pattern is out, I’ll see the most amazing, cute and colored amigurumi birds made by you.

PDF crochet pattern to make the amigurumi Chubby Birds is available on Ravelry ed Etsy.
It includes step by step photos, the 3 colorways to make a cockatiel, parakeet and galah parrot and following the color chart it will be easy to personalize the pattern picking the colors of your favorite little bird, budgie or parrot!

My Chubby birds are made out of 100% cotton yarn DMC Natura Just Cotton, you can read the full materials list here (on Ravelry and Etsy)

Since we are now celebrating all the amigurumi with AmiguruMay there’s a 25% discount on this pattern until the 19th of May 2019 (no code needed, you’ll see the discount at the checkout!).

I hope you will enjoy this pattern as much as I loved making it! I can’t wait to see your Chubby birds!
